Causes of widened mediastinun on chest x ray
- Technical issues - projection, AP film, patient rotated or inadequate inspiration.
- Masses - Thyroid, Lymphoma, teratoma, neurogenic tumour.
- Achalasia
- Scoliosis
- Paravetebral abscess from tuberculosis
- Thoracic aortic aneurysm
