Acute indications for dialysis


  1. Persistent hyperkalaemia (above 7mmol/L)
  2. Acidosis - pH less than 7.2 or base excess over 10
  3. refractory pulmonary oedema
  4. Uraemic encephalopathy
  5. Uraemic pericarditis
  6. High catabolic state with progressive renal failure
